United Methodist Women

Our next regular UMW meeting will be on September 13 at 7:30 PM at the church. We will discuss “Welcoming Women in All Stages of Life”. Hostesses for this meeting are all of us. Each one should bring goodies for 3-4 people, and we will share.

Our Annual Peach Festival was a great success! The profit was a little more than $1,000.00. Some of this will be given to the church scholarship committee.

On October 11th we will have our annual Thank Bank Service at 7:30 PM. Hostesses for this meeting will be Aleta and Jennifer.

There is a special day to look forward to in September. On September 17 there will be a Northern Shore Day Apart. This event will happen at Oakhurst UMC. Time is 9:30 to 12 noon, with a light breakfast available.

On October 4th the Annual Northern Shore District UMW Fall Dinner will be held at St. Andrew’s UMC in Toms River. Registration begins at 5 PM with dinner served at 5:45 PM.

Also in October, on October 15th, the Conference UMW Fall meeting will be held at the new GNJ UMC Mission Resource Center in Neptune (9 AM-2PM). The topic will be Environmental Justice ($10 at the door). This will be an opportunity for you to see the new Conference Center.

On-going projects include:
1. Collecting jewelry is an on-going project for the next Fair at Francis Asbury Manor. Jackie Cole will take any unneeded jewelry to the ladies in charge of that table.

2. Campbells soup labels, labels for education, soda can tabs, stamps. These go in the containers in the Narthex. The part of the soup label that is needed is the small "ticket" section at the bottom.

3. Plastic quart containers (such as ice cream, cool whip, etc) to be used for take-out at the Flea Market and Peach Festival and dinners.
